…of the way to a top signal

The 111-day average of Bitcoin's price is at … of twice its 350-day average. When the two meet, the Pi Cycle Top fires. It has fired four times, each within days of a cycle high.

What are the Pi Cycle Top and Bottom Indicators?

The Pi Cycle Top and Bottom Indicators are used to identify potential market tops and bottoms in Bitcoin's price cycles. These indicators are based on simple moving averages that reflect cyclical price trends. Historically, the Pi Cycle Top Indicator has been effective in predicting the timing of Bitcoin's market cycle highs within a few days.

The top

Take the 111-day simple moving average of the daily price. Take the 350-day simple moving average and double it. When the 111-day line rises through the doubled 350-day line, the indicator signals a top.

Why pi

350 divided by 111 is 3.153, close to π (3.142). The two averages run on periods whose ratio is almost exactly pi, which is where the name comes from.

The bottom

The companion bottom signal compares the 150-day exponential moving average with the 471-day simple moving average multiplied by 0.745. When the 150-day line falls below it, prices have historically been near a cycle low.
